All levels are welcome on our award winning competition teams. Whether beginning or advanced, we have a dance team for you. Competitive Teams Competition Team Communication Hub At South Coast, we have competition teams that range from beginning to advanced dancers. If your dancer loves being on stage and wants an opportunity to shine, please reach out for more information! Join The Team Rubber Duckies Performing Group Shooting Stars Company Rubber Duckies gives dancers, between the ages of 3-7 years old, a chance to take class and work on choreography throughout the year. In addition, they attend 2 competitions and perform in our Holiday Show and annual June recital. Performing Group is for dancers who wish to increase their training and participate in a competitive venue. These dancers train 3-5 hours per week and compete at 2 competitions plus our Holiday Show and our Annual June Recital. Learn More Our Shooting Stars team highlights dancers who are dedicated to the sport and who have goals of joining our Company Program in the future. These dancers take 4-6 hours of training per week, compete at 4 competitions, and participate in our annual Holiday Show & recital in June. The South Coast Company is for select, dedicated dancers ready to commit to a 5-10-hour training schedule (dependent upon age.) They compete at 5 competitions a year, attend conventions, and perform in our annual Holiday Show and June Recital. Company team placements take place in June. - Stacey Serra Hammond | South Coast Performi
< Back Stacey Serra Hammond Owner Stacey started dancing at the age of 10; it has been a significant part of her life ever since. Her background in dance includes being captain of the UC Davis dance team as well as their Administrative Assistant. Through those roles, Stacey earned experience in Marketing & Promotions, Creating Databases, Development and Organization of events. Stacey has a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from the University of California, Davis. Over the past several years, Stacey has continued to learn about business and life through one of her passions, travel. While volunteering for a program in New Zealand, she had the opportunity to help recruit new volunteers and began learning website design and internet marketing. Even though she is always looking for new challenges and adventures,Stacey finds comfort in knowing that her SCPA Family is always waiting for her return. stacey@southcoastperformingarts.com

- Lindsey Lee | South Coast Performi
< Back Lindsey Lee Faculty: Jazz, Dance Team Lindsey first began dancing when she was six years old and hasn't stopped since. She trained at Irvine Dance Academy in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, and Lyrical. She devoted her life to dance and competed with both her studio as well as with her high school dance team when she was younger. In high school, she was awarded several solo titles including Miss USA National, Miss Dance Drill Team California and 4th Runner up to Miss Dance Drill Team United States. After high school, Lindsey attended UCLA where she earned her BFA in Art History and her Masters in Education. While in college, Lindsey danced professionally in Los Angeles as a member of the UCLA Dance Team. While on the UCLA Dance Team, Lindsey had many opportunities, including choreographing competition routines. She appeared on Fox Sports Television shows, and was a featured dancer in the Choreographers' Ball in Los Angeles. While living in LA, Lindsey continued to train at both the Edge PAC and was also on scholarship at the Dance Center, formerly known as Tremaines Studio of Dance. After college Lindsey worked for the United Spirit Association teaching summer dance camps all over California, Utah, Texas and Washington. Lindsey has choreographed for a variety of schools in the Southern CA area and continues to do so. Lindsey began coaching within the High School Dance Team arena and her team was awarded 1st place for their "Small Lyrical" dance in the USA Nationals Championship Division. In addition to teaching dance, Lindsey also judges for CADTD dance competitions. Lindsey is a dance teacher at Dana Hills High School in Dana Point and is working to develop the dance program within the school. During her first year of teaching she was awarded the "Rookie Dance Team Director of the Year" by the CADTD organization. Teaching dance is a dream come true for Lindsey and she hopes to instill within her students the same love and passion that she has for the art form of dance. Lindsey is married to her wonderful husband, Aaron and has two beautiful little girls, Camryn and Dani, who I am sure you will see dancing at the studio. lindsey@southcoastperformingarts.com

- Shawna Skipps | South Coast Performi
< Back Shawna Skipps Operations Director Shawna Skipps is the Operations Director at South Coast Performing Arts, where she keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes. With a keen eye for detail and organization, Shawna ensures that both faculty and families have the support they need for a seamless studio experience. A lifelong performer, Shawna is passionate about singing, dancing, and acting. She has extensive experience in all three, having performed in musical theater, choirs, and plays throughout her life. Shawna has also taught dance, singing, and acting, and she loves helping students develop their talents and build confidence. Although she started her college journey as a Musical Theater major, Shawna found her true calling in studio operations, combining her artistic background with her organizational skills. Outside of work, Shanwa enjoys spending time with her family, especially her siblings, and cherishes moments with her friends. shawna@southcoastperformingarts.com

Dance Scholarship Opportunities At South Coast Performing Arts, we are proud to offer scholarship programs that open doors for passionate and dedicated young dancers. Whether you are seeking support based on financial need or excellence in the arts, we are here to nurture your journey. Talia Serra Bradley Memorial Scholarship The Talia Serra Bradley Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to help families continue their dance education journey. Our goal is to impact as many dancers as possible each season, with a base award of $500 per dancer for the August–June season. Award Criteria Must have completed at least one year of prior dance training. Ages 5–18. Must have a strong attendance record, demonstrate talent, promise, and dedication. Family must demonstrate financial need. Students must be positive role models within the SCPA community. Scholarship recipients participate in group dances only (no solos, duos, or trios). Must volunteer 1–3 hours weekly assisting in classes (ages 11+); parents assist at events if dancer is too young. Recital, costume, and competition fees are not included. How to Apply Complete the Application Form, Parent Statement, and Student Profile Form. Submit by June 1st. Applications must be complete with all required financial documentation to be considered. Merit Based Scholarship This award honors dancers who excel artistically, academically, and as leaders within their community. Winner: $1,000 scholarship Two Finalists: $250 scholarship each Award Criteria Applicants are evaluated across three main categories: Artistic Merit • Leadership • Academic Achievement Application Components: 3-minute solo dance video (one continuous take, any style) Resume (Dance Training, Performance, Leadership, Awards) 500-word Essay: “What impact has dance had on your life, and how do you plan to use this influence to impact others?” Leadership and Choreography Experience Current GPA (3.0 minimum) with transcript Recommendation Letter from a current teacher Two photos (1 headshot, 1 action dance photo) How to Apply Submit all materials by June 1st, 2025. Community Scholarship SCPA is proud to offer one full scholarship to a student from each of our local participating schools for the 2025–2026 dance season! Who Is This Scholarship For? Each recipient will be a student who: Demonstrates kindness and respect toward others Shows focus and responsibility in school Has financial need that may otherwise limit access to extracurricular activities How Are Students Selected? Scholarship recipients will be chosen by school administration at each participating campus and announced by September 1, 2025.
