Dancer Drop Off: 1:30 pm Show- Drop off is 12:00-12:30 pm & 5:00 pm Show- Drop off is 4:00-4:30 pm Parents are not allowed backstage. Dancers will be dropped off at the backstage check-in point. Come with hair slicked into a bun, center part with no bangs. Remove all jewelry and nail polish before arriving. No photography or recording is allowed during the shows. Please no food in the auditorium or backstage areas, water bottles only. Dancers will remain backstage until the entire performance is over.     < Back Gina Quintana Faculty: Creative Movement Gina comes to us with over twenty five years of teaching experience. A graduate of University of California, Irvine with a degree in dance, Gina has taught ballet, jazz, tap, modern, creative movement, and cotillion in studios and schools throughout central and Southern California. When she isn't in the studio she can be found at elementary schools with The Wooden Floor, and in hospitals teaching dance for Parkinson's disease, and Discovery Arts, bringing the arts to hospitalized children. She also teaches at UCP in their recreation department, and spends her evenings performing at Disneyland.   • Chantal Ricci | South Coast Performi

    < Back Chantal Ricci Faculty: Ballet, Combo Chantal Ricci earned her B.A in Dance and B.S. in Business Administration from Chapman University where she studied, trained and performed with a diverse and accomplished faculty. In addition to training extensively at studios throughout Orange County, Chantal has studied at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Ballet Pacifica Conservatory and American Ballet Theatre’s Summer Intensive programs. While growing up, Chantal was awarded many titles at various regional and national competitions. One of her most memorable early performances was dancing in the children’s cast of the Joffrey Ballet’s Nutcracker at the OCPAC. Chantal has also enjoyed dance roles in the Crystal Cathedral’s 'The Glory of Christmas' and Disneyland parades. For over a decade she has been choreographing and teaching ballet, pointe, tap, lyrical and jazz for local studios and high school dance programs.     < Back Jessica Parr Competitive Director With over 12 years experience as an independent dance instructor and choreographer, Jessica's choreography in jazz, lyrical, ballet, pointe and tap have won numerous local, regional and national awards. Dancers who were trained by Jessica have worked in music videos, theatre, television, motion pictures, been accepted into impressive dance companies and have become dance instructors and choreographers themselves. Her experience includes teaching at studios throughout Orange and Los Angeles counties in California from 2000-2006 then in Gaston and Mecklenburg counties in North and South Carolina from January 2008-April 2012. After which, she returned to California and started working with South Coast in Spring of 2012. Additional experience includes High School dance choreographer in Pacifica Dance Program from 1997-2000. Jessica is a well-rounded and gifted dance instructor who desires to share her talents by influencing others thru teaching. Jessica believes in motivating and educating students of all levels and from all walks of life.     < Back Tasha Skipps Faculty: Hip Hop Tasha discovered her love for dance at a young age, growing up immersed in the arts with a passion for dancing, singing, and acting. While all three brought her joy, it was dance that truly captured her heart. Over the years, Tasha has trained in a variety of dance styles, and her dedication has been recognized with several awards and honors. She had the privilege of attending a summer program at the Joffrey Ballet, where she focused on jazz and contemporary dance, and was invited to continue her training with their trainee program. In addition to performing, Tasha has had the opportunity to model for dance catalogs, further expanding her experience in the industry. Now, with over a decade of teaching experience, Tasha is grateful to be part of the SCPA team, where she shares her love for dance with students and contributes to the day-to-day operations. Whether she’s teaching, helping with office tasks, or supporting her fellow faculty and students, she strives to bring calm and positivity to everything she does.     < Back Stacey Serra Hammond Owner Stacey started dancing at the age of 10; it has been a significant part of her life ever since. Her background in dance includes being captain of the UC Davis dance team as well as their Administrative Assistant. Through those roles, Stacey earned experience in Marketing & Promotions, Creating Databases, Development and Organization of events. Stacey has a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from the University of California, Davis. Over the past several years, Stacey has continued to learn about business and life through one of her passions, travel. While volunteering for a program in New Zealand, she had the opportunity to help recruit new volunteers and began learning website design and internet marketing.   • Sierra Tanji | South Coast Performi

    < Back Sierra Tanji Faculty: Tap Sierra Tanji grew up dancing at SCPA and then moved on to graduate from Cal State University Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science in Dance Science. She has always been interested in injury prevention for young dancers, and one day intends to further this career in kinesiology. However, she also has a strong drive towards movie musicals, and bridging the gap between narrative film and dance film. Sierra recently choreographed, starred in, and co-directed a dance short film called "C'est LA Vie" which premiered at the Long Beach Art Theater and will be featured in more film festivals coming up in 2024. In 2023, Eliza Loran and Tanji created a theatrical concert dance work titled "1:23 AM 4th & Cherry Ave." which fuses vaudeville acting, tap dance, and contemporary dance to form a silly and joyous performance piece. This work won them "Best Performance” at the 2023 Socal Dance and Choreography Dance Festival. Sierra is trained in a variety of dance forms including, tap, contemporary-modern, jazz, hiphop, and ballet. Tanji tries to blend the variety of skills she has in order to create unique and new work to further the art industry in LA film and concert dance. South Coast performing Arts was her second home growing up and she is thrilled to be coming back to create new experiences for the current dancers and students to learn from! Love you SCPA FAM!

  • Madisyn Brillo | South Coast Performi

    < Back Madisyn Brillo Faculty: Tap Madisyn Brillo began her dance career around the age of 1 and trained in San Diego at Carlsbad Dance Centre. There she trained for 15 years in tap, jazz, hip hop, ballet, and contemporary. In her professional career from 2016-2022, she was a part of a pre-professional tap dance company known as Reverb Tap Company. There she specifically studied and performed the art of tap dance around the so-cal area. Today Madie works at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure as a parade performer, where she performs as a dancer and with beloved Disney characters. Her ultimate goal is to combine her second passion of filmmaking with dance and bring joy to those all around the world.

    Dance Scholarship Opportunities At South Coast Performing Arts, we are proud to offer scholarship programs that open doors for passionate and dedicated young dancers. Whether you are seeking support based on financial need or excellence in the arts, we are here to nurture your journey. For more information or assistance with the scholarship process, please contact the South Coast Performing Arts front desk. We’re excited to welcome and support our next generation of artists! Talia Serra Bradley Memorial Scholarship The Talia Serra Bradley Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to help families continue their dance education journey. Our goal is to impact as many dancers as possible each season, with a base award of $500 per dancer for the August–June season. Award Criteria Must have completed at least one year of prior dance training. Ages 5–18. Must have a strong attendance record, demonstrate talent, promise, and dedication. Family must demonstrate financial need. Students must be positive role models within the SCPA community. Scholarship recipients participate in group dances only (no solos, duos, or trios). Must volunteer 1–3 hours weekly assisting in classes (ages 11+); parents assist at events if dancer is too young. Recital, costume, and competition fees are not included. How to Apply Complete the Application Form, Parent Statement, and Student Profile Form. Submit by June 1st. Applications must be complete with all required financial documentation to be considered. Merit Based Scholarship This award honors dancers who excel artistically, academically, and as leaders within their community. Winner: $1,000 scholarship Two Finalists: $250 scholarship each Award Criteria Applicants are evaluated across three main categories: Artistic Merit • Leadership • Academic Achievement Application Components: 3-minute solo dance video (one continuous take, any style) Resume (Dance Training, Performance, Leadership, Awards) 500-word Essay: “What impact has dance had on your life, and how do you plan to use this influence to impact others?” Leadership and Choreography Experience Current GPA (3.0 minimum) with transcript Recommendation Letter from a current teacher Two photos (1 headshot, 1 action dance photo) How to Apply Submit all materials by June 1st, 2025. Community Scholarship SCPA is proud to offer one full scholarship to a student from each of our local participating schools for the 2025–2026 dance season! Who Is This Scholarship For?
