< Back Shawna Skipps Operations Director Shawna Skipps is the Operations Director at South Coast Performing Arts, where she keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes. With a keen eye for detail and organization, Shawna ensures that both faculty and families have the support they need for a seamless studio experience. A lifelong performer, Shawna is passionate about singing, dancing, and acting. She has extensive experience in all three, having performed in musical theater, choirs, and plays throughout her life. Shawna has also taught dance, singing, and acting, and she loves helping students develop their talents and build confidence. Although she started her college journey as a Musical Theater major, Shawna found her true calling in studio operations, combining her artistic background with her organizational skills. Outside of work, Shanwa enjoys spending time with her family, especially her siblings, and cherishes moments with her friends. shawna@southcoastperformingarts.com

Competitive Teams Competition Team Communication Hub At South Coast, we have competition teams that range from beginning to advanced dancers. If your dancer loves being on stage and wants an opportunity to shine, please reach out for more information! Join The Team Rubber Duckies Performing Group Shooting Stars Company Rubber Duckies gives dancers, between the ages of 3-7 years old, a chance to take class and work on choreography throughout the year. In addition, they attend 2 competitions and perform in our Holiday Show and annual June recital. Performing Group is for dancers who wish to increase their training and participate in a competitive venue. These dancers train 3-5 hours per week and compete at 2 competitions plus our Holiday Show and our Annual June Recital. Learn More Our Shooting Stars team highlights dancers who are dedicated to the sport and who have goals of joining our Company Program in the future. These dancers take 4-6 hours of training per week, compete at 4 competitions, and participate in our annual Holiday Show & recital in June. The South Coast Company is for select, dedicated dancers ready to commit to a 5-10-hour training schedule (dependent upon age.) They compete at 5 competitions a year, attend conventions, and perform in our annual Holiday Show and June Recital. Company team placements take place in June. < Back MJ Wolff Creative Director Originally from Charleston, SC, MJ's passion for dance ignited at the age of three and has since been the driving force of her journey. For a decade, she dedicated herself to competitive dancing, seamlessly transitioning this dedication into her college career. As the captain and choreographer of the Coastal Carolina University’s Coastelttes Dance Team, she performed alongside the Spirit of the Chanticleer Marching Band, captivating audiences at sporting events. Her leadership extended to Spirit Productions, where she served as dance captain for six remarkable years, showcasing her talent in productions such as Illusions of Magic, Cirque Extreme, Christmas Wonderland, and Hot Jersey Nights. MJ's expertise as a dance educator spans fifteen years, marked by her recent accomplishments at the 2023 Industry Dance Awards for her choreography and at World of Dance with ThaMost performing under the guidance of Jonathan Sison. Currently pursuing an MFA in Dance at CSULB, MJ's dedication to her craft continues to evolve. Additionally, she holds the role of Creative Director at South Coast Performing Arts in Tustin, CA, where she inspires and nurtures emerging artists in the dance community. mj@southcoastperformingarts.com

< Back Ashley Sutherland Parker Faculty: Ballet, Jazz & Combo Ashley was born and raised in Orange County, CA and began dancing at The Irvine School of Dance. She continued to pursue ballet training with Ballet Pacifica in Irvine, CA. Over her dancing career, Ashley attended prestigious Summer Intensive Programs such as School of American Ballet , Pacific Northwest Balle t, Miami City Ballet and Joffrey Ballet School . Ashley joined the Joffrey Ballet School Trainee Program in New York City from 2007-2009. Throughout her career she had extensive training in Ballet, Modern, Contemporary & Jazz dance. Ashley officially joined the SCPA faculty in 2015 - teaching a range of styles and ages! Her passion is sharing the love of dance with her students. ashley@southcoastperformingarts.com

Vicki is the Co-Owner and Director of South Coast Performing Arts along with daughter, Stacey. < Back Anessa Davies Faculty: Tap & Hip Hop Anessa Davies is a current Bachelor of Fine Arts candidate in Dance at California State University, Long Beach, while also working towards a minor in Sociology. Davies is trained in tap, jazz, contemporary, modern, ballet, musical theater, and pom styles. She dedicated two years of her college career to the Long Beach State Spirit Team, under the direction of Rey Lozano. She has been in numerous productions at CSULB, showcasing her talent in two student works, one MFA thesis, and one faculty work, alongside esteemed tap guest artist Steve Zee. Along with Steve Zee, Anessa has trained under Andrew Vaca, Danzel Thompson-Stout, Rebecca Lemme, Steven Sofia, and many more. She made her dance film debut this past March, under choreographer Sierra Tanji, with the title of C'est La Vie. Anessa had the opportunity to choreograph a jazz piece titled Coffee For Two, for the 2024 Contemporary Concert at CSULB.
