Welcome Party
Our welcome party was a hit! A huge thank you to all of our dancers and parents who came out to relax and have some fun. The dancers' smiles and laughter were pure joy, and it was such a treat to see. A special shoutout to Mr. Devyn, who bravely took on the dodgeball challenge single-handedly! The intense jousting matches and daring rock climbing made the day even more exciting.
Even though it was an early Saturday morning, having the entire facility to ourselves made it all worthwhile. (The facility buyout was made possible thanks to contributions from all the dancers in attendance, along with support from the boosters and the SCPA event budget.)
We’d also like to give a big thank you to the parent volunteers, who worked hard to help the event run smoothly, the boosters for providing delicious doughnuts, and Rachel Scott Photography for capturing the group photos—we can’t wait to see them!
Thank you again to everyone for coming out and supporting our SCPA community!
Slumber Party
From the early hours of Saturday morning to the late hours of the night, it was a long but unforgettable day for our faculty and older dancers. The tradition of the SCPA slumber party was in full swing this year, with 30 dancers in attendance. Our very first slumber party took place over 20 years ago, and it’s amazing to see that it’s still going strong.
This event has always been a dancer favorite—a rite of passage for our 12-year-olds and a season highlight for our veteran dancers.
From classic activities like relay races and making dance videos to newer traditions like the toilet paper fashion show and life-sized Hungry Hungry Hippos, the magic of the slumber party renews itself every year. I love that the studio remains a safe space for our dancers—where they can not only feel physically secure but also let loose, be silly, enjoy childhood, and bond with their teammates.
